RESA ELA Professional Learning K-5

 

1.  Domain Days - Professional Learning provided by RESA Specialists 

Purpose:  Teachers will gain an in-depth understanding of the new ELA standards 

Intended Audience: Teachers and Coaches

Location:  Elementary K-5 Domains(Foothills)

September 18, 19, or 20 - Foundations/Practices

November 4, 5, or 6 Language/Practices 

December 2, 3, or 4 Text/Practices

Each month, there is a focus on one domain that is replicated. Pick one of the three days each month to attend.

2.  GaDOE Professional Learning sponsored by NEGA RESA

Purpose: GaDOE will be providing professional learning on the New ELA Standards to be implemented in 2025-2026.

Intended Audience: Teachers and Instructional Coaches

Location:  

September 23rd (K-5) and September 24th (6-12) - Jefferson Civic Center

January 29th (K-5) and January 30th (6-12) - Walton County Annex Building

3.  Let’s Read, Georgia

Purpose:  Training provided by NEGA RESA K-5 Regional Literacy Coaches for District Literacy Coaches, School Coaches and School-based Literacy Leads on the Let’s Read, Georgia Initiative utilizing a “Train the Trainer” model that will build District capacity.

Intended Audience: K-3 Literacy Coaches/Literacy Leads, K-5 Literacy Directors/Coaches

Location: In-Person Training Sessions

Let’s Read, Georgia - Session 1: September 10th - Foothills-Athens, 8:00-4:00

Let’s Read, Georgia - Session 2: October 23rd - Madison County District Office - 800 Madison Street, Danielsville,  8:00-4:00

Let’s Read, Georgia - Session 3: February 11th or 12th - NEGA RESA Lyndol Cain Room, 8:00-4:00 

Let’s Read, Georgia - Session 4: May 7th - Foothills - Athens, 8:00-4:00 

Micro-Zoom Virtual Training Sessions

November 11th (3:00-3:45

4.  Second Semester Domain Days (Repeat from First Semester Training) Professional Learning provided by RESA Specialists 

Purpose:  Teachers will gain an in-depth understanding of the new ELA standards 

Intended Audience: Teachers and Coaches (K-5) Repeat training from the Fall

Location:  

January 13th - Foundations, Oconee Civic Center

February 10th - Language, Barrow County Board of Education

March 24th - Text and Practices, Oconee Civic Center
